Tourism Commission Vacancies

The City of Fort Madison is accepting applications for one vacancy on the Tourism Commission. Applicants can obtain a copy online or by contacting the City Clerk’s Office.

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age. These are uncompensated positions. All applications are subject to the open records laws of the State of Iowa. 


Agendas & Minutes

The Tourism Commission meets at least four times a year at City Hall.  Members are appointed to three (3) year terms.  Members shall serve no more than two (2) successive terms.  Former members may be reappointed following a one (1) year absence from the Commission.

The Tourism Commission are responsible for the disbursement of all hotel/motel tax monies allocated to the Commission during the City's annual budget process.  The priority of these monies is to market Fort Madison as a tourist destination, and to maximize the City's return on it's tourism investment.
