The purpose of the Old Fort Commission is to:
- Provide for the long term management of the Old Fort facility;
- Coordinate activities that directly relate to the operation and continuity of the Old Fort facility;
- Enable a broad representation on the commission to reflect various interest groups to affect overall management policies and practices;
- Ensure that the historical importance and periodicity be maintained in activities involving the fort's use.
- Address all matters pertaining to the original Fort site and the replica Fort site.
