PORT of Fort Madison

A community-based group who represent different interests who have come together to promote the creation and use of outdoor recreational trails in Fort Madison. We will operate as a sub-committee of the City of Fort Madison Parks & Recreation Department.

Three initial phases:

  • Phase 1 (complete): 3,000 feet – Ivanhoe Park to Bluff Road trail
  • Phase 2 (complete): 2,750 feet – Connects off this trail past the FMMS to FM Sports Complex
  • Phase 3: Sports Complex to Fort Madison Community Hospital planned to be completed in Summer of 2020

Phase 4 is next, a connector trail:

  • Phase 4A: connecting Phase 3 with River Lane
  • Phase 4B: connecting Phase 2 and Bluff Road

Phase 5 is on hold for now: a connector trail between the Rodeo Park Trails and bluff Road will begin in 2020 with completion expected in 2021. This phase will be fully funded by the FMCH-GRHS Community Health Foundation.

5th Annual Boo-Athlon - October 28 through November 1, 2020

PORT's Spooktacular Booathalon is going virtual in 2020! This means you can choose your own adventure! If you want to do one of our traditional routes, that's great. If you want to walk around your own neighborhood or run on a treadmill, that's awesome, too! You choose when, where & how you participate. Participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes and post photos of themselves completing the Booathalon on the PORT Facebook page.
