Below is a list of dates Burlington Northern Santa Fe will be requiring lane closures on the Fort Madison, Iowa swing span bridge from Iowa to Illinois. The closures will be for electrical upgrades and new car barriers for the swing bridge. BNSF will update if there are any changes to the schedule as soon as we can and the City in turn will post those changes on the City Website .

1. Single lane closure for delivery of MCC-2 09/11/17. A 3-hour lane closure of the north bound lane for off-loading and hoisting the single cubicle MCC.

2. Single lane closure for delivery of the four ABB VFD drives 10/04/17. Full day with north lane closure from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm for off-loading and hoisting at the toll booth location.

3. Single lane closure for the removal of the existing west traffic gate and the physical installation of the new gate 11/13/17. A full day closure from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm of the west bound lane. Location is the Ft Madison approach to the bridge.

4. Road closure for the testing of the new west traffic gate 11/16/17. A 3-hour road closure.

5. Single lane closure for the removal of the existing east traffic gate and the physical installation of the new gate 11/27/17. A full day closure from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm of the east bound lane. Location is the Niota approach to the bridge.

6. Road closure both lanes for the testing of the new east traffic gate 11/30/17. A 3-hour road closure.

7. Road closure for the integrated testing of the integrated traffic control and bridge operating system 12/01/17. A 4-hour road closure.
