[ARCHIVED] Riding the Freedom Train: The Underground Railroad in Iowa

“Riding the Freedom Train: The Underground Railroad in Iowa”, a traveling exhibit from the African American Museum of Iowa, will be displayed at the Fort Madison Municipal Building beginning Tuesday, February 19 through Friday, February 22. This three-panel exhibit will take you across Iowa following the most common Underground Railroad routes and tells stories about safe houses, communities, and brave individuals who took their risked their lives on a journey to freedom. The display is sponsored by the Fort Madison Human Rights Commission. The Fort Madison Municipal Building is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
