Fort Madison Mayor Brad Randolph, presents an Employee Appreciation Day Proclamation to Fort Madison Safety Committee members Dawn Helling, Bryan Morehouse and Captain Todd Shields. Employee Appreciation Day has been set for Tuesday, April 15. The proclamation reads as follows:
WHEREAS, City of Fort Madison employees make significant contributions to the well-being and quality of life for all citizens of our City; and
WHEREAS, these employees are committed to excellence in their everyday job performance with the knowledge, skills and ethics required for productive employment; and
WHEREAS, in these challenging economic times the employees of the City of Fort Madison perform their duties with professionalism, compassion, integrity, and true commitment to those they serve, while continually seeking ways to cut costs and utilize taxpayer resources wisely; and
WHEREAS, through their dedicated efforts and continuous improvement in working safely, the City has earned one of the lowest Experience Modification Factor’s (EMF) in the Iowa Municipalities Workers Compensation (IMCA) pool, resulting in a substantial savings to the City. Most important, all City employees have the opportunity to go home safe at the end of their day; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to set a day to honor and recognize all City employees and provide our citizenry an opportunity to learn more about their local government and the exceptional employees who serve them; and
WHEREAS, Fort Madison is privileged to join other cities across the nation to express special recognition and gratitude to our City employees for their tremendous efforts, sacrifices, and unselfish spirit of dedication to the citizens of our community;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Bradley A. Randolph, Mayor of the City of Fort Madison, Iowa, proclaim April 15, 2014, as:
