The Fort Madison Family YMCA will be offering a swimming proficiency test as a prerequisite for an upcoming life guarding class which will be held after January 1. The pre-test will be held on Thursday, December 18 at 5:30 pm at the Fort Madison Family YMCA, 220 26th Street. Participants must be 15 years of age and are asked to be at the YMCA with a swimming suit and goggles. The life guard class schedule will be determined at the conclusion of the swimming proficiency test. Cost for the 30 hour life guard class is $125.00 which includes books and certifications.
